Read MoreSkills groups focus on teaching practical tools like emotional regulation, healthy communication, and coping strategies in a supportive peer environment. Unlike individual therapy, skills groups offer the benefit of connection, feedback, and shared experiences with others navigating similar challenges.
Middle School: Emotion regulation, social problem-solving, self-esteem, and friendship skills.
High School: Coping with academic stress, peer pressure, identity development, and emotional regulation.
Young Adults: Managing transitions (college, work), boundary-setting, emotional resilience, and building healthy relationships.
All groups are led by a licensed therapist who is experienced in adolescents and young adult development. Group leaders are trained in evidence-based approaches such as DBT, CBT and trauma-informed care.
We intentionally keep our group sizes small, typically 6 to 10 participants. This helps foster trust, engagement, and personalized attention.
That’s totally normal! We work to create a welcoming and respectful space where participation is encouraged but never forced. Many teens find comfort in realizing they’re not alone and often grow more confident as sessions progress.
Groups typically run in 6 week cycles, meeting once a week for 60 minutes. Some groups offer ongoing enrollment or seasonal sessions (fall, spring, summer).
Many insurance plans cover group therapy, but coverage can vary. We’re happy to check your benefits or provide documentation for out-of-network reimbursement. We also offer private pay options ($35/per session) and sliding scale fees when available.
